JáNae Powell

JáNae Powell is an East Bay Area native with roots in San Francisco. A devoted self-proclaimed “fun aunt” to a niece and nephew, JáNae is excited about her professional journey in family law.

JáNae holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and completed her legal education at the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2021, also graduating with a Professional Writing Graduate Certificate from the University’s College of Arts and Sciences.

Becoming an attorney was a childhood dream— JáNae comes to the Stratte firm with varied legal experiences and interests, excited to assist diverse individuals and family units across the state. In law school, JáNae was a dedicated and forward-thinking student, spearheading and participating in initiatives to drive the school and its mission forward. She was an Ohio Innocence Project Fellow and a class representative on the Student Legal Education Committee. As a co-founder of the school’s Art Revitalization Project, she worked with school faculty and leadership to secure funding for the institution’s art and presentation to continually reflect the ever-changing diversity of the legal profession and student body.

JáNae loves exploring her home state, traveling whenever possible, and reading fiction novels. She spends most weekends with her family, three dogs, and partner. 

JáNae’s love for innovation and creativity in the law is a primary reason she is passionate about family law. JáNae is a resilient, solution and detailed oriented advocate who holds clients in high regard, and a welcome addition to the Stratte team.
